Personal Practice

Throughout the week, mornings kick off with a more dynamic Yin-Yang-style class, offering a more invigorating start to the day. These sessions focus on building strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, providing participants with a solid foundation for their personal practice.

In the afternoons, the emphasis shifts to the nurturing and introspective realm of Yin Yoga. Participants engage in prolonged holds of postures, targeting the deep connective tissues, promoting flexibility, and cultivating a meditative state of mind. This dual approach allows individuals to explore the synergies between dynamic and restorative practices, fostering a holistic understanding of Yin Yoga. This module encourages participants to tailor their routines, drawing inspiration from both Yin and Yang elements, fostering a well-rounded and sustainable yoga practice that they can carry with them beyond the training.

By the end of the week you will have the chance to teach your own sequence and be taught by your peers.

Anatomy and Fascia Theory

Embark on a captivating journey into the intricate world of fascia anatomy during this week-long Yin Yoga Teacher Training. Through a blend of dynamic lectures and hands-on experiences, participants will gain a profound understanding of fascia and its crucial role in the body. Delve into the layers of connective tissue, exploring how it influences movement, flexibility, and overall physical well-being. Learn to recognize the unique qualities of fascia in Yin postures and discover how to adapt and refine poses to target specific areas of this web-like structure. As you deepen your awareness of fascial anatomy, you'll not only enhance your personal practice but also acquire the knowledge to guide students towards a more embodied and mindful yoga experience.

The 5 Elements of TCM

Incorporating the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) into Yin Yoga adds a profound dimension to the practice. Throughout this training, participants will explore the core principles of TCM, with a particular focus on the 5 elements - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Dive into the energetic aspects of these elements and understand their influence on both physical and mental well-being. Through a combination of lectures, experiential exercises, and discussions, participants will learn to apply TCM principles to their teaching practice and sequencing. This integration of ancient wisdom with modern yoga not only enriches your teaching repertoire but also provides a holistic approach to wellness that extends beyond the yoga mat.

Yin yoga postures will be grouped according to the elements and meridians they are connected with. You will learn the benefits, alignments and modifications of each core yin yoga posture. We will also explore use of props and variations of each posture to ensure your classes are accessible and safe.

Sequencing and Practicum

The Teaching Methodology segment of our Yin Yoga Teacher Training is dedicated to empowering participants with practical tools and effective techniques to skillfully guide others through the practice of Yin Yoga. Explore the art of sequencing, learning how to create balanced and purposeful classes that cater to various levels of practitioners.

Dive into the nuances of cueing, understanding how language can deeply impact the experience of a pose. Participants will also explore the importance of creating a nurturing and inclusive class environment, where individuals feel supported and encouraged in their practice. With a focus on holding space and adapting to the unique needs of students, this training equips participants with the skills to facilitate transformative and enriching Yin Yoga experiences.
